Rules of the online competition
1. The Competition is open to pianists of all nationalities;
2. The Competition includes two main categories and seven separate age groups for the piano classic solo;
3. Each application folder must include the following documents:
– Application form, duly completed, including the name of teacher
– Copy of passport or identity document;
– Photo (passport type, good quality);
– Short CV (up to 500 characters in English or Bulgarian) for groups A5, A6, A7 and B5, B6, B7
– Proof of payment of the entry fee;
– The URL link to the video recording on YouTube. (*)
4. Complete application folders must be received until April 15th, 2022
5. An acknowledgement will be e-mailed to the applicants upon receipt of the complete application folder;
6. Entries will be taken into consideration payment proof is received for the full amount (all bank charges must be paid by the candidate);
7. The application fee is not refundable;
8. If the participant performs in both A and B categories of the relevant age groups, then the participant should pay both fees separately, namely, the fee for category A and B.
9. The Jury can split a prize or not award a prize;
10. The Jury’s decisions are final;
11. Teachers who have three or more participants will receive a Diploma of Distinction for Outstanding Teacher;
12. All video recordings remain the property of the organizers;
13. Jury members may present their students, but they will not vote for them;
14. The final results will be announced at the end of the competition, on the 1st of May 2022;
15. Participants could receive a summary of the jury’s comments in case they are interested in receiving personal feedback;
16. Entry to the competition implies full acceptance of the Competition’s Rules;
17. Rules may be subject to change;
(*) Video Recording Specifications:
1. The video must be recorded and uploaded on YouTube. It is the applicant’s responsibility to insure that their links are active, viewable and of adequate quality for the jury’s purposes, until the end of April
2. Due to current constraints, performances on upright pianos are allowed, as are video recordings with a smartphone;
3. The performance must be recorded like in a live performance. The separate pieces included in the program can be recorded at different time and be uploaded in separate links. Entries should be recorded in the last year.
4. The instrument, face and hands of the performer should be clearly visible;
5. Candidates must play from memory. Exceptionally, for contemporary pieces (groups A6, B6 and A7, B7) scores will be tolerated;
6. Scores of contemporary pieces (free choice pieces of groups A6, B6 and A7, B7) must be submitted. The jury may ask additionally for other scores of free choice pieces.
